Ukrainian defence tech company TAF Industries plans to establish domestic production of electronic components using its own SMT lines, with total investment exceeding €10 million. The announcement was made by the company’s deputy director, Volodymyr Zinovskyi, at the ReBuild Ukraine conference in Warsaw.

The company anticipates that one such line will generate more than 100 jobs and produce over 250,000 medium-complexity units per month. The facility will manufacture electronic modules required for modern unmanned systems, including speed controllers, flight controllers and video transmitters. The project aims to reduce dependence on imported components and enable the company to take part in European industrial and defence programmes.

TAF Industries is considering securing European co-financing, but is prepared to proceed independently if negotiations drag on.

SMT lines are production facilities that enable a fully automated process for mounting microchips and small electronic components onto printed circuit boards.

Earlier, Defender Media reported on TAF Industries’ field Demo Day, where the manufacturer presented updated “Kvazar 3M” and “Kvazar A” systems, the portable TL Spectrum analyser and the TL Control remote-operation platform.
