Short news and notable interviews with key figures of Ukraine’s defence tech scene from the past week

HIMERA continues to test international markets. Vyriy plans to invest $4 million in M&A in the fourth quarter of this year and aims to reach $1.5 million in monthly investments thereafter.

HIMERA fulfils the defence order for NATO member state
Ukrainian tactical communications developer HIMERA reports that it has successfully completed a government defence order for the Ministry of Defence of a European NATO member state — though the specific country has not been disclosed.
As part of the order, HIMERA conducted comprehensive training for local communications units and military personnel. The company says its systems received high evaluations during field testing, and the client country is now considering wider integration of HIMERA systems across its armed forces.
Meanwhile, HIMERA CEO Mykhailo Rudomynskyi appeared on Militarnyi’s English-language podcast.
Vyriy acquiring Ukrainian defence startups
One of Ukraine’s largest FPV drone manufacturers, Vyriy, plans to invest over $4 million in other defence companies in Q4 2025, founder Oleksii Babenko told Forbes Ukraine. “The goal is to reach around $1.5 million in investments per month,” he said, adding that the sum includes both deal values and funds allocated for scaling acquired production.
According to Forbes, Vyriy has already acquired five companies in 2025. In June, it bought Lviv-based logistics and evacuation UGV producer Cyber Droid, and also took 51% stakes in three UAV developers. Speaking to Militarnyi during the Defence Tech Valley event in September 2025, Babenko said these include the developer of the Blyskavka strike drone (an adapted version of Russia’s Molniya UAV), the Veresen FPV drone carrier, and the Sokil lightweight reconnaissance drone.
Vyriy is now reportedly exploring the acquisition of a company specialising in targeting systems.
