Army TV journalists attended the tests of the new ground robotic complex, the Droid TW12.7, developed by the company DevDroid. This system was created to perform reconnaissance and combat missions at the front and is fitted with a remotely controlled turret adapted for the 12.7 mm calibre.

The complex was tested at the training ground of the DIU special forces unit “Revanch”. The platform can be employed in combat, engineering or logistical roles, providing support to different units.

The Droid combat module is designed for the Browning M2 machine gun and its modifications. The ammunition supply system holds up to 400 rounds in the box and 20 in the belt.

The combat module is equipped with a ballistic calculator for accurate targeting, which automatically adjusts for the distance to the target. Before use, the sighting module is calibrated and aligned with the machine gun barrel, after which it is ready to fire.

The module is operated by two linear actuators that provide horizontal and vertical guidance. Three cameras are installed on the platform: a narrow-angle and a wide-angle day camera, as well as a thermal imaging camera.

Artificial intelligence is used to recognise targets, enabling the operator to track and engage both moving and stationary objects, including vehicles and equipment. The robot has a range of 22 km and a maximum speed of 7 km/h on hard surfaces and open terrain.

DevDroid’s portfolio also includes Wolly turrets designed for the KT-7.62 (PKT) and M2 Browning 12.7 machine guns. The manufacturer additionally integrates these combat modules into mobile platforms. DevDroid solutions are already being actively employed on the front line for combat and reconnaissance tasks.
