Тop 5 defence tech events in August: IRON DEMO 2025, “Land of Engineers”, DALO Industry Days and more

This August, the centre of business activity in defence tech will shift to Western Ukraine. The beginning of the month promises to be particularly busy — with two events kicking off in Lviv and one in Uzhhorod on the very first days.

IRON DEMO 2025

Where: Lviv
When: 1–2 August

IRON DEMO 2025 will take place in Lviv from 1 to 2 August. Organised by the IRON cluster, it is an annual gathering of manufacturers, military personnel, investors, and defence tech startups. Defender Media is a media partner of the event.

Expect panel discussions, startup pitches, workshops for manufacturers, live demonstrations of aerial and ground systems, and an exhibition featuring over 70 defence technology companies.

“Land of Engineers” Roadshow

Where: Uzhhorod, Ternopil, Rivne
When: From 2 August
Price: Free

Launching on 2 August, this nationwide event series targets engineering enthusiasts, STEM students, researchers, manufacturers, startup founders and developers with ideas in defence tech. Organised by Lobby X.

The events are designed for those who already have a project or concept and are looking for expert or manufacturing support and/or up to $100,000 in funding to bring their ideas to life.

August workshops will take place in Uzhhorod (2 August), Ternopil (16 August), and Rivne (31 August).

Open Storm Battle

Where: Lviv
When: 2 August
Price: Free

On 2 August, Lviv will host an open training-intensive game Open Storm Battle with participation from Ukraine’s 3rd Assault Brigade. The event will feature drone reconnaissance, ground robotic systems, and tactical coordination.

Also on the agenda are tactical medicine training, operation planning for both assault and defence, and a large airsoft battle under the guidance of experienced instructors.

TechNet Augusta 2025

Where: Augusta, USA
When: 18–21 August
Price: From $395

Held in Augusta, Georgia, USA, this three-day conference aims to strengthen ties between the military and commercial sectors. Supported by the US Army’s Cyber Center of Excellence and industry experts, TechNet Augusta 2025 will address procurement challenges faced by the military, government and industry amid uncertain budgets and rapidly advancing technologies.

DALO Industry Days 2025

Where: Ballerup, Denmark
When: 20–21 August
Price: From €15

DALO Industry Days offers a platform for dialogue between defence industry representatives, technical experts, Danish Armed Forces Command (DALO), the Danish Ministry of Defence, and other government bodies.

The event will host officials from several European governments and procurement agencies, along with Danish and international defence companies. More than 600 exhibitors and 12,000 attendees from the global defence sector are expected.
