Lviv City Council and IRON Cluster to award grants of up to UAH 300,000 for defence innovation

Applications are open until 20 July for a grant competition run by the Lviv City Council in partnership with the IRON defence tech cluster. The programme is open to individuals or teams working on technological solutions that strengthen Ukraine’s defence capabilities.

Eligible applicants include startups registered less than a year ago, as well as individuals willing to launch a defence tech business in Lviv. Winners will be required to register as a sole trader (FOP) or limited liability company (LLC).

Key requirements: the project must be a technical solution that enhances defence capacity, and the team must include at least two people with experience in defence technology, engineering, or project management.

Grants will be awarded following a pitch session. The winner will receive UAH 300,000, second place UAH 200,000, and third place UAH 150,000.

Applications are accepted via the city’s electronic submission service until 20 July. Applicants must include a signed declaration of participation, a business development plan, a product description, and CVs of all team members in Ukrainian.
