A new meetup in the DEF.Talks series titled “Identity Transformation: Life After Pixels” will take place on July 30 at the UNIT.City innovation park in Kyiv. The event will bring together veterans of the Russo-Ukrainian war to discuss how technology helps navigate the transition from military to civilian identity — preserving what matters and unlocking new opportunities. The event is organized by UNIT.City, BazaIT Defense, UADUT Cluster та UNBAI, with Defender Media as the official media partner.

Discussion topics will include:

  • How digital solutions help integrate military and civilian experiences;
  • Who creates a supportive environment for veterans — the state, businesses, or communities;
  • How technology facilitates adaptation to civilian life and supports building a new career or launching a business.

Speakers:

  • Zhenya Halych, soldier and frontman of the rock band O.Torvald
  • Masi Nayyem, serviceman and co-founder of the NGO “Principle”
  • Ruslan Prykhodko, Deputy Minister for Veterans Affairs of Ukraine
  • Olha Bezpalko, expert in inclusive solutions and Head of Diversity and Inclusion at PrivatBank

The discussion will be moderated by Oksana Horbunova, COO & Co-founder of BazaIT and CEO of BazaIT Defense.
