Ukraine and NATO to create an information platform that integrates the military experience of Ukraine and the Alliance into a unified system
Ukraine’s combat experience to underpin new LL DEP analysis and training system

The NATO–Ukraine Joint Analysis, Training and Education Centre (JATEC) has launched work on the development of the Lesson Learned Data Exploitation Platform (LL DEP) — a system for leveraging insights gained from combat operations. The initiative involves representatives from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Land Forces Command, the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, experts from NATO member states, and analysts from the Boryviter NGO.
The platform is intended to consolidate the military experience of Ukraine and NATO allies within a single information space. Particular attention has been paid to the platform’s architecture, mechanisms for data exchange, and protocols for interaction between JATEC, the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and NATO structures.
“Ukrainian war experience and NATO’s technological capabilities will create the foundation for a new model of operational training — one that will enhance Ukraine’s defence capabilities and lay the groundwork for a shared future security architecture,” said Colonel Valeriy Vyshnivskyi, Director of Programme Implementation at JATEC.
Working groups at the LL DEP conference focused on four key areas: anticipated platform outcomes, processes for information exchange among stakeholders, methods for data collection, and analytical tools and methodologies.
As a reminder, as part of JATEC activities, Ukrainian developers submitted 42 project proposals to the 16th NATO Innovation Challenge, which focused on countering FPV drones operated via fibre-optic communication. In total, 162 applications were received — a record number in the history of the Alliance’s innovation hackathons. The winners of the hackathon are due to be announced today.
