The Ukrainian company WIY DRONES has developed two types of drone-interceptors capable of neutralizing Russian reconnaissance UAVs and strike drones of the “Shahed” type. These devices can be launched from mobile platforms for rapid response to enemy targets, “Militarnіy” reports.

“Strila” is a drone-interceptor designed to destroy “Shaheds”. It is capable of reaching speeds of over 300 km/h. Although the exact characteristics are not disclosed, the developers note that the aerodynamic body of the device reduces air resistance and increases the effectiveness of interception.

Thanks to special software, which is already used in the Ukrainian Defence Forces, the “Strila” can be directed into the area of the enemy drone’s movement, and the operator in manual mode leads it to the target. The drone can stay in the air for 15 to 20 minutes and is equipped with both a day and a night thermal imaging cameras, which allows it to work around the clock.

The development has already been tested in conditions close to combat, but has not yet been used in active combat operations. According to the manufacturer, the drone is being tested on the routes of the “Shaheds”.

“Burewiy” is an interceptor drone for the destruction of Russian reconnaissance UAVs, such as “Orlan”, “Zala”, “SuperCam” and others. This interceptor is capable of destroying enemy drones at an altitude of 1000 to 2000 meters and has a maximum speed of 250 km/h. “Burewiy” uses its own digital communication, as well as radio control and video communication using Walksnail technology, which is actively used in the military.

“Burewiy” is not yet used in combat units, but is undergoing tests and is preparing for codification. Both drones use propellers of their own production, as according to the developers, there are no such propellers on the market that could withstand high speeds without damage.

Recall that the company “Athlon Avia,” which produces the famous reconnaissance UAV “Furia,” announced its own military recruitment campaign. As part of it, the manufacturer will train “Furia” pilots for free and help them find a unit in the Defence Forces of Ukraine.
