Jobs for veterans and 15+ open positions at companies developing autonomous drone solutions

Autonomous drone solutions could become a game-changer in the Russian-Ukrainian war. Today, around 20 projects in this field are already active in Ukraine. Most of them are in need of reinforcement – particularly engineering expertise. This week, for Defender Media’s regular roundup of open positions in Ukrainian defence tech, the editorial team has selected over 15 job opportunities in the field of drone autonomy. These include openings at startups such as M-FLY, DoD Solution, AimedAt, Swarmer, and Fourth Law.

For the first time, this selection also features job opportunities specifically for veterans – curated by section’s partner, BazaIT.

Career opportunities in autonomous drone tech

Ukrainian startup M-FLY, which develops a laser guidance system and gimbals for UAVs, is hiring a C++ Engineer. The position is based at the company’s Kyiv office. In March 2025, M-FLY raised $1.3 million from a group of venture funds and angel investors.

Some of the most well-known Ukrainian startups working on autonomous drone systems include Fourth Law, founded by Yaroslav Azhnyuk, and Swarmer, led by Serhii Kupriienko. Swarmer is building solutions for drone swarms and raised $2.7 million last year. The company currently has six open positions:

• Embedded Linux Engineer
• Talent Pool
• Senior Product Manager
• Senior Software Engineer (Python)

Fourth Law currently has four open positions:

• Embedded Engineer
• FPV Pilot
• QA Lead
• Account Manager

You can also work on drone autonomy in Lviv. The local company DoD Solution is developing AI-based terminal guidance and navigation systems for kamikaze drones and medium-range loitering munitions. Their software enables strike UAVs and smart munitions to accurately hit targets even under active electronic warfare and GPS-denied conditions. DoD Solution currently has three open positions: Lead Machine Learning Engineer, Senior Embedded Engineer and Senior Software Engineer C++.

At AimedAt, you can work remotely on autonomous AI solutions for FPV drones. The company’s technology enables drones to automatically detect and engage enemy targets. The project is currently hiring for two roles: Software Engineer (C++) and Embedded Engineer.
