Unwave unveils new infantry electronic warfare system “Patelnya”
Backpack-mounted or ground-deployable device designed to counter drone threats

Unwave, Ukrainian EW manufacturer, unveiled a new infantry electronic warfare system, the Patelnya-2K/3K, designed to counter drones that drop explosive devices on infantry units.
The device is mounted on a backpack equipped with a Molle system, and its antenna can be operated single-handedly. The system emits a powerful electromagnetic signal across a broad, though defined, frequency range, typically covering 360 degrees. It can also be deployed on the ground using an integrated bipod.

Reports from the front indicate that service personnel have experienced side effects from operating electronic warfare systems, including nausea, headaches, fatigue, and dizziness. More concerning are cognitive impairments such as reduced concentration, slower reaction times, and memory issues.
To mitigate these effects, the manufacturer has included a specialised shielding hood for the operator. A remote control unit is also provided, allowing the system to be operated from cover.
Founded in 2023, Unwave specialises in the development and manufacture of radio-electronic equipment for countering unmanned aerial vehicles. The company’s product range includes single-channel dome devices (Shatro), universal multi-channel systems (Boombox), handheld rifles for personnel (Speka), as well as supporting batteries and accessories.
