Uklon co-founders invest $200K in Ailand Systems
Company develops drones for demining

The co-founders of Uklon have invested $200,000 in Ailand Systems, a Ukrainian startup developing autonomous drones for remote detection of mines and explosives. This is the second public investment by the Unbreakable fund ($2 million in total), created by Uklon’s co-founders to support the development of the Ukrainian defence tech industry.
Due to the war, Ukraine has become the most heavily mined country in the world, and full demining will take at least decades. The use of Ailand Systems drones can significantly speed up this process, making it cheaper and safer for deminers.
The main product of Ailand Systems is the ST1 unmanned mine detector, which is capable of quickly surveying large areas with detection accuracy comparable to that of humans. The investment will be used to improve the technology and set up production of the ST1, which is being prepared for state certification.
Prior to the full-scale invasion, Ailand Systems was developing a drone for phytosanitary control of crop pests to reduce the use of toxic pesticides, but after 24 February, it adapted its developments for humanitarian demining.
